Yeni Mao: Paintings/Drawings

Mao explores landscapes that deal with macro- and microcosmic scale, solids and ghosts of organic and technological mass. The similarities found between naturally and artificially generated forms become a metaphor for emotional iconography.

Diverse influences from Chinese culture, architectural renderings, human body parts, weaponry, animals, popular culture, and maps are all elements of a vocabulary that merge to create unique and often visceral metaphors.
