| Yes Baltimore, it’s another benefit art auction! |  Saturday May 8, 2004 6:00 – 9:00 pm Christine Bailey: The Ready-made Show Real Art, Real Cheap! Yes Baltimore, it’s another benefit art auction! For one night only, on Saturday May 8, Chela will be transformed in a consumer frenzy as we host our first annual benefit auction, Christine Bailey’s The Ready-made Show. For the installation, an extensive list of Baltimore’s best artists will contribute ready-made objects, pictures, audio, and video to be sold inexpensively in a silent auction. The exhibition will benefit Chela’s alternative space, while exploring the Artist/Institution/Collector hierarchy and the role of the curator as artist or the (installation) artist as curator. The show itself and all the art will be entirely ready-made! This very special evening gets underway as bidding on artwork starts at 6:00 pm. In addition to viewing and purchasing fabulous art, patrons, collectors and artists will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, beverages and live entertainment by Annie Schap. This is a great opportunity to see and participate in great artwork and to build collections at dirt cheap prices! |
