ANTI MATTER:
Performances, Events, Transactions

Saturday, October 4, 2003
Gallery at 6PM
Performances Start at 8PM
FREE

A multi-peformance, visual art event created by Buffluxus (that's Buffalo & Fluxus) performance/poet Ric Royer.

The ANTI MATTER project involves several performers, writers, and artists who choose tasks from a box created by Royer. The tasks are drawn from source materials related to Mata Hari (Exotic Dancer/ Spy?), William James Sidis (Child Prodigy/ Supermarket Cashier), and Stanley Milgrim (Social Scientist) (photo: front of box)

The event will be a combination of performances, visual art pieces, installations/sculpture, live music, readings, and all manner of mixed media and genre. Featured artists are from around the country including Buffalo, NYC, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Columbus, OH.

Notes from Royer:
Last november I began a top-secret research project that has generated a large collection of material geared to initiate creative acts by others (material=assignments).

These assignments have been accumulating in a large orgone treated wooden box that also holds specters, audio, scores, charged objects, otherwise confidential photos, and a game rulebook.

THE BASICS: look in the box- pick an assignment- create something based on it- bring it to the location.

The source book gives background information on the project, a listing of sources for the project, and additional notes for each of the assignments.
